Tiger Woods finished in a three-way tie for sixth place at The Open this weekend. It was a pretty encouraging performance.
Woods' sixth-place finish is his best at a major since the 2013 Masters. He finished in a tie for fourth place that weekend.
Woods shared the lead during the final round on Sunday, but struggled a bit on the back-nine. That's what led to him falling back to three shots behind the eventual winner, Francesco Molinari.
It wasn't a lost weekend for Woods, however. He took home quite a nice bit of prize money.
He, Kevin Chappell and Eddie Pepperell each won $324,166.
Tiger will have one more chance to snap his major drought this year. He'll play in the PGA Championship in August.
Woods has won that event four times--1999, 2000, 2006 and 2007. He missed the cut in his last two PGA appearances in 2014 and 2015.
The last time Woods made it through a full weekend at the PGA was in 2013 when he tied for 40th.
