Tim Tebow Bought His Minor League Team A Mattress For Road Trips

The former football star bought his team a present.

Tim Tebow is fully engulfed in the minor league baseball lifestyle.

This weekend, Tebow's team, the Columbia Fireflies, made a 700-mile trip up to New Jersey for a series against Lakewood Blue Claws.

The New York Mets' prospect snapped a photo of himself on the bus.

Tebow looks pretty comfortable in that seat, but he apparently could've been even more cosy.

The former star quarterback told reporters that he bought a small mattress that can go in between the bus seats, but he's such a nice guy that he lets his teammates use it.

“I bought a nice little mattress I could try to slide on the floor on the bus,” Tebow said with a smile Sunday before going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the Fireflies’ 5-3 Mother’s Day victory over Lakewood. “And so that helped a little bit.”

Naturally, Tebow is an avid sharer of his sleeping equipment.

“He barely uses it,” Columbia third baseman Michael Paez said.

Minor league bus life can be pretty draining, but it doesn't seem to be getting to Tebow. He's hitting .243 with a .328 OBP and could soon get a promotion from the Mets' low-A affiliate.
