Tim Tebow Homered Again, His Stats In High-A Are Actually Quite Impressive

Tim Tebow is actually performing very well thus far for the St. Lucie Mets.

Yes, the New York Mets have already admitted that the Tim Tebow signing was for publicity. But at this point, he's actually starting to look like a decent player. Tebow, despite batting .220 for the Columbia Fireflies, was called up to the St. Lucie Mets two weeks back and he appears to be taking advantage.

Through nine games, Tebow is batting .360 with an on-base percentage of .500. He has two home runs too - one of which came Wednesday night.

Oddly enough, there appears to be no footage of the homer. But the St. Lucie Mets took a photo of him rounding the bases.

There are two levels above the High-A squad that Tebow is playing for - the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AA) and the Las Vegas 51s (AAA). It remains to be seen whether he'll get moved up - or just called up to the Mets pro roster in September.

However this all turns out, it's impressive enough that Tebow hasn't been a complete dud in the minors.
