The Latest On The Tom Brady, Alex Reimer Situation
Here is the latest on the situation between the Patriots quarterback and the radio host.
Tom Brady hung up on Boston's WEEI sports radio station because of a host's comment about his young daughter. Here's the latest on that situation.
The New England Patriots quarterback does a weekly interview on the Boston station every Monday during the season. This week's interview was cut extremely short. Brady said he would have to re-consider his plans moving forward because one personality at the station (not someone who does the Monday interview) made a comment about his 5-year-old daughter.
Alex Reimer, a personality and fill-in host at WEEI, called Brady's daughter an "annoying little pissant." He had been talking about Brady's new Facebook Watch show, Tom vs. Time.
"It was very disappointing to hear that," Brady told WEEI on Monday. "My daughter or any child certainly does not deserve that."
WEEI released a statement, saying Reimer had been indefinitely suspended. The station called his statement "utterly indefensible" and "mean-spirited commentary."
Many expect Reimer to lose his job over this. The weekly interview with Brady is an extremely important one for the station and losing it would be a huge blow. WEEI's parent company and the Patriots recently agreed to a new multi-year deal, too.
Brady was asked again about Reimer at Super Bowl "Opening Night" on Monday. He showed compassion.
Good for Brady. His new Facebook show can be seen here.
