There was a terrifying crash at the Tour de France today. Somehow, the rider was able to walk away from the scary wreck mostly unscathed.
Philippe Gilbert was biking down a the Portet d’Aspet when he had a bit of a misstep on a turn. He lost control of the bike and went toppling over a short wall.
He was able to slow himself down a little bit before hitting the wall and flipping over his bike.
Still, it’s tough to watch.

It’s been quite the day at the Tour de France today. Someone tossed tear gas onto the course, forcing the race to be halted.
The Tour de France was temporarily stopped after tear gas inadvertently got into the eyes of some riders. Protesting farmers had blocked the road with hay bales, leading police to spray them with CS gas. https://t.co/QODa7ldTE1 pic.twitter.com/BV5e8ssL1C
