Tubby Smith is not going to be out of work for very long.

The veteran college basketball coach is set to land a new head coaching gig, according to a report by ESPN insider Jeff Goodman.

Smith, 66, is set to become the head coach at his alma mater.

"Tubby Smith on the verge of taking job at his alma mater, High Point, sources told ESPN. Will head to High Point Monday to finish the negotiations," reports Goodman.

Smith was Memphis' head coach from 2016-18. The school parted ways with him at the conclusion of this past season.

He was previously the head coach at Texas Tech and Minnesota, following a decade-long stint at Kentucky.

Smith is 597–302 (.664) as a head coach and led Kentucky to a national title in 1998.
