With the NFL regular season officially underway for 2018, it's becoming clear that football is still king in America.

Regardless of all the controversy and distractions surrounding the league, fans can't get enough of the sport. Although Week 1 doesn't finish until tonight, the NFL has to be extremely pleased with their ratings for opening weekend.

Sure, there wasn't a huge jump in percentages, but almost every outlet saw their overall viewership increase.

Outside of NBC's Sunday Night Football, the NFL prospered this past weekend. Besides, not many people would've thought Aaron Rodgers would return and lead the Packers to victory last night.

From an entertaining battle in Cleveland to an unexpected shootout in New Orleans, the mantra of 'any given Sunday' truly lived up to its billing.

If the NFL sees an upward trend each week, it'll be safe to say that football isn't going anywhere.
