Brooks Koepka is a two-time U.S. Open champion. The 28-year-old golfer followed up his 2017 championship with another title this year. He finished 1-over par for the tournament this past weekend, finishing a stroke ahead of Tommy Fleetwood.
The star golfer was embraced after the win by his girlfriend, Jena Sims. FOX's cameras captured the sweet moment.
After the tournament, Sims took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message.
"So much gratitude, so deserved. Back to back baby! Congratulations Brooks and Rick!" she wrote.
Koepka and Sims had a great moment on Sunday.
Dustin Johnson and his fiancee, Paulina Gretzky, almost had that moment. DJ was in contention all weekend but ended up falling a bit short.
For a moment, though, Gretzky thought he had one. A J.R. Smith-esque story has surfaced from NJ.com:
As Johnson approached his 13-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole at Shinnecock Hills on Sunday, Gretzky and two other women ducked under the ropes for a close-up view.
They stood while Bob Koepka sat, anxiously swallowing his nerves in the knee-high fescue.
The three women were less careful with their excitement. When Johnson's putt toppled into the hole, the trio erupted in euphorics - hugging, screaming, arms flailing.
Johnson and Gretzky will have plenty of more chances for a victorious embrace. DJ will be a favorite to win at both the British Open and the PGA Championship.
