UCF vs. Arkansas State preview:
First things first, UCF went 0-12 last year. That's a big ol' goose egg in the win column. This year the Knights are 6-6 and headed to a bowl game. It's an incredible turnaround for a program that was basically dead in the water; a bowl win would be a huge, huge achievement for this team. They have the defense to do it, thanks to the AAC Defensive Player of the Year, LB Shaquem Griffin, who's recorded 85 tackles and 11 sacks this year.
After starting their season 0-4, the Arkansas State Red Wolves became a new team overnight, and won seven of their last eight to become bowl eligible. Not too shabby. The Red Wolves don't have a particular strength or a certain weakness. The defense limits scoring opportunities by giving up only 374.5 yards per game while the offense is able to move the chains with a sound running game and a competent quarterback in Justice Hansen.
UCF vs. Arkansas State prediction:
UCF wins this one. UCF may not have an explosive offense, but the Knights have enough to move the ball down the field, and the defense will take care of the rest. With the game taking place in Orlando, UCF practically has home field.
