Ugly Details Emerge From Kawhi Leonard's Relationship With Spurs Legend

Kawhi Leonard speaks at Spurs press conference.

Kawhi Leonard is no longer a member of the San Antonio Spurs. This is obviously for the best - the All-NBA forward had been demanding a trade for more than a month. He wanted to end up in Los Angeles, but San Antonio shipped him to Toronto instead.

The former NBA Finals MVP was traded to the Raptors in exchange for a package featuring All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan. The trade ended one of the weirdest situations in the league. Kawhi went from being the franchise's golden boy to someone who couldn't leave fast enough.

Some ugly details have started to emerge from the situation.

Spurs legend David Robinson appeared on ESPN's The Jump on Monday and revealed that he attempted to reach out to Kawhi multiple times. He never heard back.

Robinson says that he was stonewalled by Kawhi's uncle, who appears to be running things, and can count on one hand the number of things Kawhi has told him.

When The Admiral is opening up about how odd the situation with Kawhi Leonard was, you know it's pretty brutal.

Kawhi is Toronto's problem now, though. And it's quite possible that he won't be a problem at all. If Kawhi is healthy, he's one of the best players in the NBA, and despite having just one year left on his contract, there are already people saying he could stick around long-term.
