Louisville's men's basketball program has yet to hire a head coach. That's likely going to change soon.

Xavier head coach Chris Mack is the top target, according to several reports. The Musketeers' head coach reportedly met with the Cardinals over the weekend.

He's expected to be their man.

Jon Rothstein is reporting that, barring something unforeseen, Mack will be their head coach.

An official announcement is expected soon.

From FanRag Sports:

The Louisville Cardinals and current Xavier Musketeers head basketball coach Chris Mack remain in the midst of contract negotiations, multiple sources have informed FanRag Sports. Barring something unforeseen, Mack will become the ACC program’s next head coach.

An official announcement is expected soon.

Mack would be a tremendous hire for Louisville's program. He's been one of the best coaches in the country at Xavier and while the Musketeers are a very good program, he'll surely benefit from everything that Louisville has to offer.

Stay tuned, it sounds like this is going to wrap up soon.
