Urban Meyer thinks this season's Buckeyes team is the most talented team he's ever coached.
During the Big Ten's weekly teleconference, Urban Meyer made quite the statement about this year's Ohio State team.
“Sometimes, you get asked questions like, ‘Is this the most talented team you’ve ever had?’ I think so. It’s a very talented team that gets better each week. Certainly, you see the evolution of the defense."
Meyer has three national championship rings to his name, but there is obviously something he sees in this Buckeyes team that he is extremely high on.
When it comes to Ohio State's defense, the group ranks fourth in the FBS in yards allowed per game allowing just 246 yards per contest. The Buckeyes also sit second in the nation in points allowed per game - only behind rival Michigan - as their opponents are averaging 10.8 points per game.
Then, you throw in quarterback J.T. Barrett who is surrounded with elite talent, and you do indeed have the makeup of a special team.
The Buckeyes' schedule has been rather friendly up to to this point of the season with their only noteworthy test coming at Oklahoma back on Sept. 17. Three of their remaining seven games will come against teams that are currently ranked inside the AP top 10.
This week Ohio State visits Wisconsin with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. EST.
