Ohio State fans and the rest of the college football world are anxiously awaiting news on an Urban Meyer decision from the school's president and board of trustees. It seems like that decision should be coming today.

The school's board of trustees meeting began at 9 a.m. E.T. It included Urban Meyer showing up a couple of minutes into it.

The meeting, which was public but quickly broke off into a private, executive session, has been going on for four hours-plus at this point.

An Ohio State spokesman has issued an update on the impending decision. It could be coming within an hour or two, but it's not a guarantee.

"Ohio State director of media relations Benjamin Johnson told reporters at Longaberger Alumni House’s loading dock that an update on the trustees, investigators and head coach Urban Meyer could come in “an hour or two.” However, he said, an announcement still might not come today," tweeted Buckeye Sports Bulletin's Garrett Stepien.

Eleven Warriors had reported earlier today that a decision on Meyer was expected to be announced today.

Urban Meyer has been on paid administrative leave since Aug. 1. Most expect his punishment to be a suspension or an immediate reinstatement.

Ohio State opens its 2018 season on Sept. 1 against Oregon State. The Buckeyes have been led by Ryan Day in Meyer's absence.
