Ohio State's magical first season under head coach Chris Holtmann has unfortunately come to an end. The Buckeyes went down fighting.
OSU, the No. 5 seed in the West Region, fell to No. 4 seed Gonzaga in Boise, Idaho tonight. The Bucks were trailing by a lot in the first half, but stormed all the way back to take the lead late in the second half.
The Bulldogs were just too much, though, and eventually pulled away.
Ohio State ends its first season under the former Butler head coach with 25 wins and an NCAA Tournament victory. That's not bad at all.
The future is certainly bright for this program.
Urban Meyer would agree.
The Buckeyes' football coach tweeted a message for the team following the loss.
Well said, Urban.
Ohio State will be back.
