Photos: Usain Bolt Smiles As He Blows Away His Semifinal Heat In The 100M

Usain Bolt looks primed for another gold medal in the 100m dash. The Jamaican superstar just dusted the field in his semifinal heat and he did it with a smile on his face.

Usain Bolt, 29, is looking to become the first sprinter in history to win three straight gold medals in the 100m dash at the Olympics.

The semifinal heats for the 100m dash just took place at the track in Rio and, unsurprisingly, Bolt qualified for the final with the fastest time. Bolt ran a 9.86 and he did it with ease. He did it so easily, in fact, that he was smiling and looking around before he even crossed the finish line.

Former United States' sprinter Darvis "Doc" Patton perhaps described Bolt best in this feature by Sports Illustrated. “A guy as fast as Bolt, and as charismatic as Bolt, that’s once in a lifetime, man,” says Patton. “Once in a lifetime.”
