Over the weekend, Texas Tech announced the firing of head coach Kliff Kingsbury. After six seasons as the team's head coach, Kingsbury found himself out of the job, but likely not for long.

According to multiple reports, NFL and college football teams alike are interested in bringing in the former Red Raiders head coach. Kingsbury has become one of the hottest names in coaching and teams are clamoring to bring him in as an offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach.

Count USC among those interested. Kingsbury was in Los Angeles earlier this week and was reportedly in town again today.

According to a report from Trojan Insider, the Trojans have made Kingsbury the team's new offensive coordinator.

TrojanInsider.com been told by a source close to the USC football program that former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury has been hired as the new offensive coordinator for the Trojans. We haven’t been able to confirm that with the athletic department, but our source is very close to the situation.

If the report is accurate, USC fans have to be happy with the hire. Kingsbury is a proven offensive assistant coach and will be vital in the development of young quarterback J.T. Daniels.

Stay tuned.
