Video: A Hockey Player Licked His Opponent

Brad Marchang licks a Toronto player.

The NHL playoffs are off to an incredible start. Wednesday night gave us everything from blowouts to fights to suspensions. The Pittsburgh Penguins opened their series with a 7-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, while Winnipeg and Las Vegas both won by one-point margins.

Thursday night's games are living up to the hype as well. We've already had one controversial player, but now another, weirder, play just went down. The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs met in Round 1, and things got interesting early.

Although the Bruins opened a hefty lead, something a Bruins player did on the ice has everyone's attention.

Brad Marchand licked his opponent.

We're not exactly sure what was going through Marchand's mind when he decided to lick a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is easily the strangest thing we've seen in a sporting event recently.

The Bruins walked out with a 5-1 victory in Game 1.
