Being an NFL player can be a very dangerous job. But as we’ve seen time and again, just standing on the sidelines is no guarantee of safety either.
Case in point: Today’s game between the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.
On a scramble by Bears QB Mitch Trubisky, a Lions defender caught him on the sidelines and shoved him out of bounds.
Unfortunately for one ball boy, he was all that was standing in Trubisky’s way – and promptly got knocked out.

The play drew a flag for a late hit out of bounds (on Trubisky, not the poor ball boy).
As for the game itself, the Chicago Bears are currently in full control of their NFC North rivals.
With less than one minute to go in the first half, the Bears lead the Lions 26-7.
A Bears win would help maintain their lead in the NFC North. Meanwhile, a Lions loss would send Matt Patricia’s team into a deeper hole.
