Video: Cornerback Gets Drilled In The Head At NFL Combine
Taron Johnson is a player everyone should be rooting for. The cornerback has gone from a very-lighted recruited high schooler to a legitimate NFL prospect.
The Weber State product made the move from wide receiver to cornerback when he got to college. He's developed into one of the country's top defensive backs.
NFL.com sees him going in Round 4:
"Johnson's lack of size will drive him into a nickel role where he appears to have the foot quickness and cover talent to handle the job. He has to prove that he can play with confidence in his technique rather than grabbing during the route and his draft stock could be hinging on his 40-yard dash time at the Combine. He could find an early role as a CB4 before eventually filling the nickel spot."
Unfortunately, Johnson had a pretty embarrassing moment at the NFL Combine today. He got drilled in the head.
Johnson was doing a drill where you run from sideline to sideline and catch balls coming from different directions. He didn't see one coming.
Then, this happened:
The slo-mo version is even better:
He recovered well, at least.
The NFL Combine is being televised on the NFL Network.
