Atlanta Braves rookie Ronald Acuna Jr. has been the hottest hitter in the MLB over the past week-plus. Acuna Jr. has hit eight home runs in eight games. He's up his season totals to 19 HRs and 43 RBI.
The Miami Marlins apparently had enough of that.
So, Marlins pitcher Jose Urena decided to drill Acuna Jr. on the first pitch of his at-bat.
Acuna Jr. was down on the ground in pain for several minutes. Unsurprisingly, benches cleared between both teams, though nothing escalated too much.
Urena ended up getting ejected.
The Marlins lead tonight's game, 1-0. The Braves have been hot of late, taking a two-game lead in the NL East.
