While fans in Columbus are preparing for Ohio State’s trip to the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes are quietly putting together a strong start to the basketball season. However, tonight hasn’t gone in their favor against Illinois.
The Buckeyes own a 7-1 record, meanwhile the Fighting Illini are just 2-6 on the year.
During the first half of action, Illinois forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili had an outstanding block on Jaedon LeDee. The officiating crew didn’t call a foul on the play, which made Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann absolutely livid over the no-call.
Holtmann chewed out the referees’ ears and was struck with a technical foul for his antics. Luckily for the Buckeyes, he wasn’t ejected.
Here is the video of his explosion on the sideline:

The Buckeyes currently trail 38-34 to the Fighting Illini at halftime. If this score holds in the second half, it’d be one of the biggest upsets thus far in 2018.
The game is available on the Big Ten Network.
