Last night, the New Orleans Saints validated their status as title contenders with another impressive victory on the road. On NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the Minnesota Vikings fell flat at home, which clearly sparked anger from their fans.
While New Orleans’ defense was celebrating in the end zone, one unknown fan threw beer at the opposing players.
Justin Hardee of the Saints posted a clip of the incident on Twitter, as he visibly picked up the beer in this video:
That’s how they do you when you win there huh ??♂️? they threw beer on us pic.twitter.com/mVwufYW21W

We’ve seen these antics before from football fans. Two weeks ago, Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill was at the center of a similar incident at Gillette Stadium against the Patriots.
Clearly, the Saints were not happy with this inexcusable act, especially veteran safety Kurt Coleman, who said it was “unacceptable.”
As for the fan responsible for throwing the beer, it’s possible that he’s facing severe punishment.
Coleman said he wondered if the fan was kicked out of the game, but that was unclear. A Vikings staffer said he reached out to security after the game, but did not know if there were any repercussions. A NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune videographer saw a fan being escorted out in handcuffs from the area of the stands in the direction from which the can came, but it’s unclear if that was related. Vikings public relations officials did not immediately respond to an email seeking information on the potential fan dismissal.
Hopefully fans can stop throwing beers and just enjoy the product on the field.
