Video: The End Of The Charlotte vs. Richmond Game Included 11 Free Throws, 3 Technical Fouls In Just 4.7 Seconds

No, really.

We have a leader in the clubhouse for the craziest (literally) finish so far this March.

With a three-point lead and six seconds remaining, Richmond fouled Charlotte guard Pierria Henry in an attempt to not give up a possible game-tying 3-pointer. But on the ensuing one-and-one free throw shot, Richmond’s Derrick Williams shoved a Charlotte player, leading to a flagrant technical foul and another two free throws for the 49ers.

Henry made both of the initial free throws, and then made both technical free throws, giving the 49ers a one-point lead, still with the ball. Charlotte inbounded the ball, got fouled, and sent Henry to the line for two more free throws. But by this point, Richmond coach Chris Mooney had apparently lost his mind, and went off on the officials, getting two more technicals in the process.

In the end, Henry took 11 free throws, making eight, leading to a 68-63 win for Charlotte – all in 4.7 seconds.
