Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.
The New York Giants fell to 1-7 on the season with a 51-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams today. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated.
Afterwards, second-year head coach Ben McAdoo was asked about what he told his team at halftime, when the Giants were trailing 27-10.
He clearly didn't have many inspirational words.
The Giants are a franchise that doesn't change coaches hastily, but McAdoo might leave the team no choice but to dump him after two seasons.
At the very least, don't expect him to come up with any lengthy explanations as to why the team should keep him. Words aren't really his forte.
