On Thursday night, the reigning national champions were back on the field for their season-opener against Georgia Tech.

Clemson made short work of the Yellow Jackets, opening a 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Star running back Travis Etienne ripped off a 90-yard touchdown run to match the school record.

All of the action on the field, however, paled in comparison to watching Kirk Herbstreit see his sons suit up for Clemson for the very first time.

The ESPN college football analyst got emotional seeing his sons, Tye and Jake wear the Tigers uniform.

Check it out.

Dabo Swinney and company preach family and football and Kirk Herbstreit and his sons made that a reality on Thursday night.

Herbstreit can't feel young watching his sons take the field for the first time, but his sense of pride can be seen through the screen.

As for the action on the field, Clemson had no trouble dispatching Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets couldn't stop Travis Etienne, who racked up over 200 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries.

New head coach Geoff Collins has a massive rebuild project on his hands.

Next up for Clemson is a huge non-conference contest against No. 12 Texas A&M.
