Mirai Nagasu made history in Pyeongchang.
US figure skater Mirai Nagasu stamped her place in Olympic figure skating history tonight.
The 24-year-old became the first woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics, and just the third US woman to execute one ever.
Tonya Harding and Kimmie Meissner are the other American women to accomplish the feat.
Japan’s Midori Ito and Mao Asada were the only women to land a triple axel in the Olympics before Nagasu on Sunday.
Nagasu’s overall routine earned her a score of 137.53 and invigorated the crowd. As you can imagine, she was pumped when her time was up.
