Wendell Carter, Dick Vitale Spar On Twitter Over Mother's Comments About Coach K

Dick Vitale breaks down the 2018 NCAA Tournament bracket.

ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale is very friendly with a number of the sport's top coaches - including Mike Krzyzewski. Tuesday night, Vitale took to Twitter to defend his longtime friend after a report suggested Coach K "misled" one of his recruits a year ago - Wendell Carter Jr.

Earlier this week, Carter's mother - Kylie Carter - did an interview with NBC Sports and said she and her son were "misled" about Marvin Bagley's decision to reclassify and play for Duke last year. In short, she believed that her son was going to be Duke's top dog last season. Instead, it was Bagley.

“My initial reaction, I was pissed. And it wasn’t pissed because Marvin was coming. To be honest, I felt like that was information that was kept from us,” Kylie Carter said. “It felt (shady), it felt like my baby was gonna get kicked to the curb. I felt like all of that.”

Well, Vitale isn't taking kindly to the whole interview. He took to Twitter, calling Carter's parents "envious" of Bagley.

Carter himself responded on Twitter, and it led to an interesting back-and-forth in which Carter blamed the reporter. For reference - Vitale usually reposts the words that people tweet at him before he responds. Check it out:

Regardless, Bagley and Carter are both headed to the NBA and each will have the opportunity to show how good they really are.
