What Chris Mack Said About Rick Pitino In His Press Conference

Louisville's men's basketball program is currently introducing its new head coach, Chris Mack, to the public.

Mack, formerly of Xavier, signed a seven-year contract worth about $4 million a year to coach the Cardinals.

The former Musketeers' head coach is holding his press conference this afternoon. He was asked about Rick Pitino.

Here's what Mack said.

Mack said he has "big shoes to fill" when it comes to replacing Pitino, who led Louisville's program from 2001-17. Pitino won the national title in 2013 and made three Final Fours.

The former Xavier head coach also said that Pitino has been "awesome" to him.
