Despite all the controversy surrounding the College Football Playoff each season, it seems like the committee makes the right call at the end of the day. Besides, this new method still prevails over the former BCS standings.
Although Alabama and Clemson clearly separated from the rest of the teams in the country, it would’ve been hard to shun an undefeated Notre Dame roster.
Well, the old regime would’ve forced the Fighting Irish to watch the championship from their couch. Even though the simulated standings mirrors the current playoff picture, the past format only gave two teams the chance to compete for the title.

It’s interesting to see that Ohio State falls behind Georgia in both rankings, regardless of its recent conference championship.
The BCS score between the Bulldogs and the Sooners is intriguing, as the two programs were close in the eyes of this system.
