Baker Mayfield isn't going to the NFL Draft - here's why.

Mayfield will be watching the NFL Draft from home in Austin, Texas. He has too many people he wants to be around for him to go to the draft live in Arlington, Texas.

“I’ll be in my hometown,” Mayfield told reporters back in February. “The draft would be a good experience, something I would never forget, but there’s so many people that helped me along the way that I want to celebrate this with.”

When asked if he might change his mind if he thought he was going to be a top-five selection, Mayfield said he would not.

"I have that feeling right now," Mayfield said with a smile. "No, I'm not going."

The NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 26 to Saturday, April 28. It will be televised on ESPN, FOX and the NFL Network.
