Duke 5-Star Commit Zion Williamson Was Injured During McDonald's All-American Game

Zion Williams was injured during the McDonald's All-American Game.

The 2018 McDonald's All-American Game took place this evening. Unfortunately, one of the game's top players suffered an injury.

Zion Williamson, the five-star Duke commit known for his insane dunking ability, suffered a hand injury late in the contest. It's unclear at this point how severe it is.

ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Goodman reports that Williamson will see a personal orthopedist on Thursday. He was getting evaluated at the game earlier this hour.

Williamson suffered the apparent injury while falling to the ground in the second half. He tried to brace his fall with his right hand. Sports Illustrated tweeted out a photo of the play:

Williamson left the game with 6:05 to play in the second half. He did not return to the game.

The five-star forward is the No. 3 overall player in the 2018 class, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings. He's part of Duke's class which is ranked the No. 1 class in the country.
