He's one of the biggest names in professional soccer and has won titles with elite teams all over the world. But now, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way to the most storied club in the history of the sport.

According to ESPN FC, Zlatan is being targeted for a transfer move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in January.

Zlatan has been enjoying a stellar first season in Major League Soccer with the LA Galaxy.

Since signing with the team at the end of March, he has been second in the league in scoring with 22 goals.

Real Madrid have struggled mightily since sending Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus back in June. Despite winning four of their first five games to start the season, the club has gone winless in its last four, getting shut out in three straight league games.

The club also lost 1-0 to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

Zlatan could prove to be the antidote for Real Madrid's scoring woes. He has recorded double-digit goal seasons in every season where he's played at least 20 games since 2002.
