The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the market for a new quarterback, as the franchise has given up on 2014 first-round pick Blake Bortles. One option at their disposal could be Nick Foles.

Foles is set to be a free agent and he's coming off of a two-year stint in Philly where he helped the franchise win its first Super Bowl. The Eagles are set to move forward though with Carson Wentz as their starter, meaning Foles will be looking elsewhere.

What remains to be seen is if Philly will simply let Foles walk, or if they will re-sign him in order to trade him. Whatever they do, the Jaguars figure to be involved.

Hays Carlyon of 1010XL in Jacksonville believes the Jaguars' hiring of John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator indicates they are eyeing Foles. DeFilippo worked with Foles in Philadelphia in 2017.

"Foles is expected to be available this off-season. DeFilippo’s presence with the Jaguars strengthens the possibility of Jaguars personnel chief Tom Coughlin making an aggressive play for Foles to replace starter Blake Bortles," Carlyon wrote.

Jacksonville is coming off a disappointing 5-11 season after finishing as the AFC runner-up in 2017.

If the franchise doesn't opt for a full rebuild and wants to move forward with a veteran QB, Foles would make sense.
