Madden NFL 20 is only a few weeks away from release but the game has been teasing player ratings for a while now.
The latest big piece of information to drop was the identity of four players who garnered the highly-desired 99 overall rating in the game. While two or three of the players should come as no surprise, the fourth has certainly raised a few eyebrows.
Three defensive players earned a 99 overall rating: Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Chicago Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack, and Seattle Seahawks inside linebacker Bobby Wagner.
The fourth player – and only offensive player – to make the list was Houston Texas wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Coming off career-highs in receptions, yards, and catch rate, Hopkins earned All-Pro honors for the second year in a row.

However, Hopkins did not lead the NFL in any major statistical category, making his selection confusing to some.
The players rated 99 Overall in Madden NFL 20 are Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner, Khalil Mack, and DeAndre Hopkins.
There was only one change in that group from Madden 19. Hopkins moves up to 99 from 97 and overtakes Antonio Brown who has been dropped from 99.

Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, and Davante Adams are all better receivers than Deandre Hopkins, yet Hopkins is the receiver they pick to be in the Madden NFL 20 99 club. EA clearly robbed AB and Julio of a 99 overall!!!!

Newly-minted Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown seemed unimpressed though. Despite leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns and posting his sixth straight 100-catch, 1,000-yard season in a year where he was on the cover, he did not get a 99 rating.
In a tweet that has since been deleted but was transcribed by 360ng.com, Brown made his distaste for his non-99 rating well-known.
Madden shorted me on my check for the madden 19 cover now they short my ratings 1111
Madden NFL 20 is slated to be released on August 2.
