Earlier today, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they will not be franchise tagging Nick Foles. That means the veteran quarterback is an unrestricted free agent and able to sign wherever he chooses.

The market for Foles should increase given this development. Had the Eagles tagged him, a team would have had to make a trade to acquire him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have long been rumored to be interested in Foles. Jacksonville needs a quarterback and has a connection to Foles considering they hired former Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted this afternoon that Jacksonville is indeed the favorite to sign Foles.

Foles replaced an injured Carson Wentz late in the 2017 season and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory.

He took over for Wentz again this season and helped Philly rally to a wild card spot and a first-round playoff win.

Given Foles' recent track record and the fact he's only 30, there should be a fairly robust market for his services.
