Lost in Minnesota's win over Detroit was that Adam Thielen suffered a hamstring injury while making an incredible touchdown grab. He collided with the barricade toward the back of the end zone.
Thielen is having yet another strong season for the Vikings. In seven games, the veteran wideout has 27 receptions for 391 yards and six touchdowns.
Minnesota has a favorable matchup against Washington this Thursday, but the NFC North powerhouse could be without Thielen. However, the team isn't ready to declare him out just yet.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Vikings believe Thielen has a chance of playing this Sunday.
Thielen told Pelissero that he feels great and is hopeful that he'll be able to compete on Thursday night.
Bisi Johnson would need to step up for Minnesota if it doesn't have Thielen.
If the Vikings played on Sunday, the chances of Thielen playing would be much higher. At this point, it might make more sense for the team to hold out its best wideout until next weekend.
Minnesota faces Kansas City on the road in two weekends from now. It's important to have Thielen active on the road against a tough opponent.
The Vikings have two more days to decide whether or not Thielen will play.
