Speaking to the Bills’ official website, Allen called the Dolphins “a good test against a really good in-division opponent” and complimented them for playing well. He made it clear that the Bills’ success last year has no bearing on this year, and the Bills are taking things one week at a time.
“Sunday will be a good test against a really good in-division opponent,” Allen said. “They’re playing well. Going back to last year, they played really well. But this year’s a new year. What we did last year, what they did last year, really, what we did last week and what they did last week, it doesn’t matter. It’s a game-plan week-to-week league. And we’ve got to go out there and execute.”
The Bills certainly weren’t themselves in Week 1 against the Steelers. Their high-powered offense was limited to 16 points – which would have been tied for their fewest in last year’s 13-3 season.
#Bills QB Josh Allen says the #Dolphins secondary is good. Two great guys on the outside. Added Miami looks different than last year. “When they’re healthy – they’re good. You have to find way too move the ball, no turnovers and we just have to go out there and execute.” @WGRZ pic.twitter.com/jx8fQiZcv0

But Josh Allen has historically performed very well against the Miami Dolphins. He’s 5-0 as a starter against them with 20 touchdowns to only four turnovers.
Allen has won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award three times playing against the Dolphins. They haven’t given him much trouble in the past.
But 2021 is a new year with new players and gameplans on both teams. Maybe this year will be different.
The Bills-Dolphins game will be played at 1:00 p.m. EST and will air on FOX.
