With the deadline coming up this afternoon for every NFL team's roster, the likelihood is that we'll see a few surprising cuts. However, none might be bigger than Buffalo parting ways with LeSean McCoy.

McCoy rose to stardom in Philadelphia, where he spent six seasons in the NFC East. His best season came in 2011 when he had 1,309 rushing yards and 20 total touchdowns.

Philadelphia sent McCoy to Buffalo in a blockbuster trade back in 2015. The switch to the AFC didn't stop him from having success on the ground.

However, the Bills enter this season with far too much depth at running back. In addition to McCoy, the team has Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon and Devin Singletary.

Due to all the depth in the backfield, Buffalo is moving on from its most expensive option.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Bills are releasing McCoy as they continue to narrow down their roster.

McCoy will most likely find work elsewhere in the NFL since there is plenty of gas left in the tank.

As for the Bills, they'll take on $2.5 million worth of dead cap because of this move.

Watching McCoy hit the open market is quite shocking, but it probably won't be the only transaction that stuns the football world this weekend.
