Tonight's Monday Night Football Game Is One Of The Worst Of All-Time

Three seasons ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins met in an AFC Wild Card game. Tonight, they will play under much different circumstances.

The 2-4 Steelers host the 0-6 Dolphins, with the former fighting to hold on to its slim playoff hopes and the latter actively trying to lose games. Without question, this is one of the worst matchups in the illustrious history of Monday Night Football.

At least the uniforms and the press box food for the evening looks good.

In fairness to the Steelers and the Dolphins, it seems like every year there is a new nomination for the "Worst Monday Night Football Game Ever." Last year, it was 49ers-Giants, which actually featured some last-minute heroics.

Also, the Monday night matchups through the first eight weeks of the season have been underwhelming. Things should pick up in the second half of the season though.

Finally, as bad as these two teams may be, they would be hard-pressed to do worse than their Monday night "Mud Bowl" meeting in 2007. That one ended with Pittsburgh winning 3-0 after four quarters of slogging through the inclement conditions.

Steelers-Dolphins will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
