Tagovailoa absorbed a big hit from Buffalo Bills defensive lineman A.J. Epenesa in the first quarter this afternoon and immediately went to the sideline. He was later carted to the locker room.
Miami designated Tagovailoa as “questionable” to return with an undisclosed rib injury. Now, we have more clarity on his health, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero says X-rays on Tua were negative and he suffered only bruised ribs. However, the 2020 No. 5 overall pick is said to be in a lot of pain and will have an MRI tomorrow to get a deeper look.

Assuming Tua remains out the rest of today, veteran Jacoby Brissett will be doing the quarterbacking for the Dolphins. Brissett is 14-of-22 passing for 121 yards and in interception since entering the game.
Miami trails the Bills 14-0 just before halftime at Hard Rock Stadium.
