The Miami Dolphins have been outscored 102-10 in the first two games, while the Dallas Cowboys have scored at least 30 points in each of their first two games. As a result, the bettors are pretty confident that this game will be a blowout.
According to Ryan Hannable of WEEI, the Cowboys have opened as a 21-point favorite at home against the Dolphins.
That spread is second only to the 2013 regular season game between the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Peyton Manning and the 5-0 Broncos were a 26.5-point home favorite against the 0-5 Jaguars.
But it’s worth noting that Denver failed to cover the spread in that game despite winning.
Patriots open as 17.5-point favorites against the Jets, but that isn’t even biggest spread of Week 3. The Cowboys are favored by 21 points at home against the Dolphins.

The only other game with a 20-point spread was a 2011 matchup between the favored New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. New England was a 20.5-point favorite but similarly failed to cover in a 31-24 win.
But Miami’s offense has been so anemic that putting up any points may be an insurmountable challenge against a solid Dallas defense.
Miami’s defense should also struggle after giving up an average of 51 points per game to start the season.
The Dolphins all but forfeited the season with the litany of trades they’ve made this year.
Tanking looks ugly, but this is a team that may be historically bad.
