The New England Patriots opened the 2020 NFL season with a strong performance against the Miami Dolphins for the first win of the season.

New England followed that up with a near-upset of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Cam Newton and company came just one play away from taking down Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.

After two great games, the Patriots are hoping to keep that momentum going into Week 3. Unfortunately, Bill Belichick and company will be without two key pieces this weekend.

The Patriots placed starting center David Andrews and second-round linebacker Josh Uche on Injured Reserve. As a result, they'll be forced to miss at least the next three games.

According to FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer, Andrews recently broke his thumb and had surgery on it this week. Per the report, he attempted to try and snap the ball with his other hand in preparation for Week 3.

He missed the entire 2019 season after doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism just before the start of the campaign. It's been a tough past two seasons for Andrews, but he might not be gone for too long.

The new IR rules allow players to return after being on the list for three weeks.

New England hosts the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. Jon Gruden's team enters as one of the 11 remaining undefeated teams in the NFL.
