The NFL world has become so accustomed to seeing the New England Patriots win at a high level that their 2-4 record this season just doesn't seem real. Nonetheless, there are plenty of people seizing this opportunity to finally criticize Bill Belichick.

On Friday, ESPN analyst Bart Scott unleashed a bold take on Get Up, saying the Patriots should relieve Belichick of his duties as the team's general manager.

“I believe he hasn’t drafted a Pro Bowler since 2013,” Scott said. “So this is a bigger indictment on Bill Belichick, not the coach, but the general manager. When you have the perfect equalizer in Tom Brady, it didn’t matter who was out at receiver. This is a bigger case for Tom Brady to say he was the reason the organization was successful for all those years. It was like when LeBron James left the Cavaliers.”

Well, it sounds like at least one former Patriots player agrees with those comments.

Former Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel took a shot at Belichick on Twitter, criticizing the way he handles his personnel. He believes Belichick lets go of playmakers way too often.

"You can’t just let top players go and expect to win," Samuel wrote on Twitter. "The only reason they got away with it is because of Tom Brady. I always said this and hate how they treat the players."

The most interesting part about Samuel's tweet is that he gave Brady most of the credit for New England's success.

Now that Belichick and Brady are officially divorced, it'll be interesting to see who can have more success on their own. Right now, the edge goes to Brady.
