Still, it struck many as weird that Bill Belichick would not discuss the newest Patriots on Wednesday, even as he was set to practice.
Apparently, that is because the details of the trade were still being ironed out.
Ian Rapoport gave the new details of the Josh Gordon Patriots trade on Good Morning Football earlier.
Basically, it sounds like the conditions for some of the picks have been waived. The deal is now relatively straight forward.
From his report:
"Originally, it was thought to be a fifth-rounder to the Browns, with the Patriots getting maybe a seventh-rounder conditionally. It is my understanding that the conditions have now gone away.
So it is now a five for Josh Gordon and a seven. The trade is now official. It's done."
The Browns made it known that Gordon would be released, before changing their minds to trade him, after he reportedly aggravated a minor hamstring injury during a shoot for his clothing line, and showing up late to the team facility on Saturday.
In the season opener, he caught one pass for a 17-yard game-tying touchdown in the 21-21 tie with the Steelers. He did not play in Week 2 at the New Orleans Saints.
