The details of the issues surrounding recently-suspended Patriots WR Josh Gordon remain rather murky. However, we now have a clearer picture as to what happened leading up to last week's indefinite suspension.

According to a report from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Gordon had multiple violations of the NFL's drug policy prior to the suspension.

Even worse, Rapoport's report indicated that Gordon had tested positive for "more than marijuana."

The implications of that last statement can be especially damning for Gordon's personal health, let alone his NFL future.

Gordon is the Patriots' leading receiver with 720 yards and 18.0 yards per reception in just 11 games since being acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

The 27-year-old wideout missed the entire 2015 and 2016 due to violations of the NFL's drug policy, and was suspended for many games prior to those years.

In 2013, Gordon led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,646, a Cleveland Browns record.
