The New England Patriots easily dispatched the New York Giants last night, but got an injury scare when wideout Josh Gordon suffered a knee injury.
Gordon’s leg bent awkwardly yesterday while trying to make a tackle on an interception return by the Giants. He did not return to the game afterwards.
Fortunately for Gordon and the Patriots, the outlook is pretty good. NFL insider Ian Rapoport noted following yesterday’s game that Gordon was seen on the stationary bike.
Rapoport indicated that riding the bike indicated two things: That Gordon could have returned if he wanted to, and that the injury was not serious.
From @gmfb: The #Patriots likely dodged a bullet with WR Josh Gordon's knee injury, while #Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) returned to practice and should be good. pic.twitter.com/NZZTnjl9Nl

The offense still proved more than capable of crushing the Giants. They went on to win the game 35-14.
Fortunately for New England, they now have an extra few days of rest that Gordon can take to get healthy. They’ll certainly want him back.
Gordon is the Patriots’ second-leading wideout behind Julian Edelman. He currently has 20 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown.
It looks like Gordon and the Patriots dodged a major bullet.
Their next game will one week from Sunday against the New York Jets.
