New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a chest injury during last week's win over the New York Jets. His status for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills is still to be determined.

Edelman was limited in practice today, the Patriots announced a short time ago. The veteran wideout is one of seven players under the "limited" tag.

Offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse (illness) was the only New England player who didn't participate at all today.

As for Buffalo, running back Frank Gore, wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, tight end Tyler Kroft and linebacker Corey Thompson did not practice today. Gore is getting a "rest" day, while the others are dealing with injuries.

McKenzie was not on the injury report on Wednesday, but popped up with an ankle issue that kept him out of action today. Six other Bills were limited during today's session.

Sunday's game is an early season AFC East showdown between a pair of 3-0 teams. No one is expecting the Bills to unseat the Patriots in the division this year, but a good showing on Sunday would further prove the team is for real and intends to stay in the playoff hunt.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
