Ryan Grant was cut by the Oakland Raiders earlier this week, but the veteran wide receiver reportedly worked out for the New England Patriots today.

The 28-year-old Grant caught four passes for 14 yards in two games with Oakland this season. He spent 2018 with the Indianapolis Colts, catching 35 passes for 334 yards and a touchdown.

Grant started his career with the Washington Redskins, spending four seasons in D.C. from 2014-17. He finished with 84 catches, 985 yards and six touchdowns with Washington.

New England could just be bringing Grant in as due diligence in case they need another receiver down the road. Of course, they had to cut Antonio Brown after one week, and Julian Edelman has been limited in practice this week with a chest injury.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported Grant's workout with the Pats.

New England will face Buffalo this week in a battle between 3-o teams in the AFC East.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
