At his core, Bill Belichick is a scout. His dad literally wrote the book on football scouting and Bill has been involved in player evaluation throughout his career.
Also, we know by now there is no limit to Belichick’s work ethic and attention to detail. The man will do whatever it takes to gain an edge over his opponent and that’s a major reason why he’s won six Super Bowls as a head coach.
Therefore, the pictures of Belichick that are going today shouldn’t be surprising. On Tuesday, the legendary Patriots coach was in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on the campus of Middle Tennessee State. He was there to check out an NFL draft hopeful named Tyshun Render.
Despite a driving rain, Belichick worked out Render, an MTSU defensive end, on an outdoor field. The official Middle Tennessee State football account tweeted photos of Belichick watching Render through the rain and wind.

Now that’s dedication. It’s noteworthy, but not shocking, to see Belichick doing this.
Also, props to Render for working out shirtless in that weather. Dude appears to be plenty tough.
It would be a tremendous story if the Patriots wind up selecting him in April’s draft.
