A massive upgrade is coming to Gillette Stadium for the 2021 season, literally and figuratively. On Thursday, photos emerged of the New England Patriots' brand new scoreboard.

That's right, the Patriots will have a new scoreboard for this upcoming season. It's being set up this week behind the south end zone.

Gillette Stadium was already considered one of the best venues in the NFL, but it never hurts to make a few tweaks from time to time. Besides, adding a huge scoreboard should only increase Gillette Stadium's appeal.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe shared a picture of the Patriots' new scoreboard on Twitter. So far, it sounds like fans really like the new addition to Gillette Stadium.

Here's the photo that Volin posted on social media:

There are some fans who are worried the size of the scoreboard will overshadow the championship banners behind it. On the other hand, it's not like the scoreboard is actually blocking the banners. They're still visible for everyone at Gillette Stadium to see.

Nonetheless, the timing of this move is perfect for the Patriots because they'll welcome Tom Brady back to Foxborough later this year. Now, fans sitting in the upper deck will get a great look at the seven-time Super Bowl champion on the scoreboard.

Patriots fans, do you like the new addition to the stadium?
